Switching to a direct sales system rapidly increased sales with our intensified sales activity. We act as a bridge between the market and production.
Taiwan is a semitropical island situated southeast of Fujian in mainland China. The total area is about 36,000 km2, a little smaller than Japan’s Kyushu. A long central mountain range runs north to south, and mountains occupy a half of the island. Taipei, the biggest business city, is located in the North, and Kaohsiung, known as a city of harbors, is in the South. We established Taiyo Giken Taiwan, Inc. (TGW) in Taipei in August 2002. Originally, our business started in 1996 at the beginning stage of our globalization. Our main business was to sell gas valves to city gas companies through local agents. However, upon termination of our contract with the local agents, we decided to take the risk of changing over to a direct sales system. Ms. Hsueh Mei Ying, General Manger of TGW, helped our CEO Mr. Ishimi with interpretation at the starting stage through local agents. Mr. Ishimi valued Ms. Hsueh Mei Ying's sales capability, and appointed her GM, saying that without Ms.Hsueh Mei Ying, no TG products would exist in the Taiwanese market. The CEO has appreciated these efforts. In response to CEO's expectations, she has made TGW profitable in less than three years after its establishment. |
